John, Are you on your original battery? If the voltage drops below a certain voltage while cranking - it can wipe out the DICE's memory. Try the same procedures with a battery charger installed. Quote:
Either one will go to my extension. If you specify Saturday delivery - it will arrive on Saturday, I can give you rates in the morning.

Tom,
The battery was replaced by the dealer last fall, and it doesn't appear to have any issues when starting. I have seen a few posts about the older radios not sending a kill signal or that you have to put switch 1 down on the dice, could either of these be the issue? What I also found strange is if I shut off the truck without switching to FM or shutting the radio off, the text will continue to scroll on the OBC for about 2 minutes.. There have been no other accessories added to the electrical system, and all wiring is 100% factory. Thanks JD |

Text Display not retained
I've installed DICE Silverline into my X5 (2005) which has Nav/tapedeck, CD Changer and bluetooth fitted. I've noticed a few problems, some of which have been mentioned in this thread but I've not been able to resolve yet.
I bought the module from ipodcarkitdirect.co.uk who are a little slow responding to the problems so I thought I'd add my two pennies worth here. Having said that, I am hoping Tom (EAS) will respond to an email I sent him earlier today or perhaps you guys can share your thoughts with me. The first 2 problems relate to playlist handling. The third (annoying) problem relates to text display setting retention. 1. The DICE does not play the tracks in the same order as listed on the Ipod. This has already been posted by 'Kewl X5' and I understand a firmware fix has been produced. 2. When returning to a previous playlist, the playlist always starts from the first track rather than continuing from where it left off 3. Text Display settings are not retained after switching off ignition. Any help would be appreciated |

Other than bench testing your module - I do not have a solution. Contact me directly and we'll make the necessary arrangements. |

Can you read me the numbers from the bottom of your module, beneath the bar code? |

Tom
The numbers under the barcode of the DICE module that you requested are A00074-0606. It's an i-BMW-T module |
