Trouble with operating phone via On board computer
Title says it all really. I have a bluetooth enabled E46 with an MK4 Navigation unit. I have read and re-read the manual with regards to making/answering calls, storing/recalling numbers etc, but still I am unable to work out how this function operates. It seems as if the telephone facility is very temperamental, sometimes I can answer a call, other times I end up rejecting the call by mistake.
Sometimes I can make a call when I manually input the number and press the telephone icon, other times though it does nothing! Not to mention the fact that I cannot store any numbers. I am going crazy, does anyone have any easy to follow walk through? This function makes me doubt myself. I mean, how hard can it be? I should be getting it.... |

How do you know if your phone is compatible.
You don't mention what kind it is.

Thanks. I have a Nokia N95, it should be compatible as it is a fairly new phone. I have enabled the bluetooth, I get paired to the car, I can type in the phone number and call, I just cannot store and recall my contacts (stored at the phone) to my MK4 screen. I have enabled 'remote SIM' on my phone, which is supposed to give the car all the 'rights' to my phone.
I am confused... |

If the phone has a place to put favorite numbers move a few of your numbers to that area and try again.
Also don't forget the search feature. lot's of other opinions out there http://www.x5world.com/x5-e53-forum/...ight=Nokia+N95 |

Thanks for the link. Unfortunatelly the thread is a bit old and does not have much info. I went to the BMW page but again it has no info on E46 models. It is a big pity though that newer phones seem to be unable to 'talk' to the car...
