2006 X5 aluminum running boards

Hi, I am looking to get the running boards for the X5 but the DIY article here is somewhat confusing. I have a 2006 X5 4.4i with the SP and the fender flares dont look as agressive as the 4.8is. The article says that if you have the 4.8is you need to purchase flares seperately.

My question is what parts do I need to add these running boards. Just the boards or do I need the fender flares as well? Please advise. Also how hard is the install? Thanks!

The board comes with everything. You only need the extra flare if you want the 4.8is look. People often get confused between "flares" and wheel "arches". The board comes with the wheel arches. The flares are just the added extension beyond the wheel arches.
