That doesn't sound normal. Take it in and have the dealers look at it. Might be a very easy fix.

As far as the gears go, have you tried resetting the "learned driving style". Can't remember the exact term for it nor how to do it. I just remember reading about it in the forum. It's where the car's transmission tries to learn and adapt to the driving style. A reset might help.
